about the project
Het Fossielenspoor was designed as a playful way for children to discover fossils through physical exploration. Instead of navigating a conventional interface, visitors interact with physical fossil objects that trigger digital information on a touchscreen.

approach
I created a React and TypeScript interface running on a Raspberry Pi and connected RFID scanning to the application. An ESP32 controls LED feedback around the installation. Fossil information, images and audio are managed through structured data so the content can be updated without rebuilding the interface.

result
The finished installation creates a direct connection between touching a physical object and discovering its digital story, combining web development, embedded hardware and interaction design in one experience.
