Interactive 3D gym kiosk concept
2026

A web-based 3D prototype for a future in-gym kiosk, designed to help members explore their gym, locate equipment and discover how machines work. The long-term vision is a customised, automatically configured map for every gym location.
Navigate through the virtual gym and discover its different zones and equipment.
Search by name, category or muscle group and navigate directly to the selected machine.
Select a machine and explore its information within the 3D environment.
The current version runs entirely in the browser, allowing me to develop and test the 3D navigation, camera movement and interactions. But Gym Atlas is not intended to remain just a website. The concept is designed with physical touchscreen kiosks in mind, where members can quickly search for equipment and see where it is located inside their own gym.
Not every gym has the same layout or equipment. That is why I want Gym Atlas to eventually support a unique 3D map for each location. The idea is to use the gym's layout and equipment inventory as input, allowing much of the virtual environment to be generated and configured automatically. This would make it possible to support multiple locations without developing a separate application for every gym. This automation remains a future goal and is not yet part of the current web prototype.
Beyond navigation, I explored how to make the environment feel more natural. Using Rapier, I added physical behaviour to objects such as dumbbells, including sound feedback on collisions. These experiments helped me explore more possibilities for interaction within a 3D web environment.
